The Martin originally opened in 2018 at 2515 W North Ave as an independent, DIY event space. After closing due to COVID-19 in July of 2020, The Martin went digital until reopening at 2500 W Chicago Avenue in 2021 where it operated until December 2023.

Founded & Curated by Whitney LaMora, The Martin aimed to be an artist-first, full service space that also existed as a home for events, private dining events, gatherings, performances and more.

The Martin celebrated hundreds of events and dozens of exhibitions in it’s lifetime and was proud to be a part of the Chicago events + art scene for five years.
